Garden Chicken Mosaic in Pateley Bridge
Jessie chaps had moved from a large house with chickens roaming free. She was happy in her new home but something was missing in the garden. She asked us if we could come up with a design to incorporate the chickens she missed and her favorite blue bellflowers.
Once we saw the garden we suggested that we could produce something that could run along the whole wall bringing light and colour into her small space. Using full size chickens in the fore ground would bring depth to the image and try and make the chickens look as if they were real.
The Wall project was 5 meters long and 40cm high. We took a template of the area we needed to fill and then Catherine Simmons came up with a few designs using her muted colour style. After a bit of scale tweaking and an added rosebush we set to work cutting the tiles and sticking them on to the fiberglass mesh.
We made this mosaic in 4 sections, each section following on to the next to create one whole piece. The mosaic was then cut into 15 smaller pieces and installed along the wall at Jessie’s home.
She said, “Sitting in the garden with my chickens is a pleasure, they look so real it’s transformed the place. The little wall is now my main garden feature”
